I have this portrait bug where any weapon artifact that is in the game gets automatically overtaken by the default weapon portrait. Now I originally thought this was a mod conflict but It's been 2 days and I have been unable to fix it. The screenshot is an example, sword instead of spear. (Debug used for weapon spawn to showcase bug)

Now I will list the things I have attempted:

**1.** Removed EPE from mod list (I had several mods but only EPE affected portraits this much for me to suspect)

**2.** Started a new save with mods

**3.** Started a new save without mods (deleted all mods for this)

**4.** deleted the gfx folder that contains all the cache (recommended to clean wipe portraits).

**5.** Renamed the install folder of Crusader Kings III in documents so that the launcher creates a fresh one with default settings.

**6.** Verified integrity of game files via Steam

**7.** Did a complete **clean** reinstall

All failed.

The screenshot was taken after I did all of this on a fresh save. (Did not use mods for any method after 3)

It would be appreciated if If anyone could help as I have not found any post about this exact issue. This might actually be the most persistent bug I've ever faced in any game.
