4 month regression or another growth spurt?

Sleep

My 14 week old baby started waking up every 2 hours in the last 3-4 days.

Until now he was able to sleep for 3-4 hours and after eating he could settle himself back to sleep with the help of a pacifier.

Now he wakes up every 2 hours, I try to shush him back to sleep but he refuses to sleep until I feed him. After eating he is pretty drowsy so I put him back into his bassinet. I start shushing but he keeps fussing until I give him the pacifier. If the pacifier doesn't fall out he can fall asleep alone, if during this process the pacifier falls out I have to give it back to him. If he is already asleep when the pacifier falls out, he doesn't mind.

We already had a growth spurt 2 weeks ago and during the day he doesn't eat more than usual (he is breastfed) so this makes me think it's the 4 month regression. But if it's the regression why does he need to eat every time? He doesn't fall asleep on the breast.

What should I do? If it's the regression I read that he shouldn't have any sleep association like rocking, breast, pacifier, but I can't put him back to sleep with only shushing and keeping my hand on his chest
