Rear car window replacement kei car
I broke my rear window kei car when I was parking.
I had to reverse over a hump, so I needed to press the accelerator a bit harder. The parking space is also quite small, and the window frame of my house sticks out quite a bit
I was panic and given its my first time accident ever, Iimmediatly call insurance companyto ask abput the claim process since I have premium policy. However they told me that if I make a claim, NPD will drop by 3 grades, and i will also have to pay a ¥50,000 out of pocket and 3 years increase of insurance.
right after that rain start poured, to prevent rain from getting inside the car, I took it to Yellow Hat. The foreman initially told me the repair would probably cost around ¥30,000-¥70,000. However, the next day i received a quotation for ¥100,000.
I checked few websites, and most estimates for replacing a rear window including labor were around ¥30,8000, ¥5万+ or ¥7万 (not 関東 area).
Since the car is already at Yellow Hat and they`ve lend me a car, I dont really wanna move it somewhere at the same time, I cant help feeling that ¥100,000 is a bit overpriced.
Has anyone had a similar experience? does the price reasonable?
