Omitting substance abuse while explaining crisis
F28
I just posted here. Sorry if I’m spamming. New topic came up. Not doing well.
I have been abusing pregabalin, taking 200-300+mg at once every day or so. On the days I don’t take it, I drink heavily.
This appeared to happen with the discontinuation of Vraylar 1.5mg.
I am declining and in some sort of crisis without functionality. My memory is shot, ability to function gone, sleep erratic. Can’t do basic math either. Judgement bad. No sense of time really. Impulsive reckless decisions.
I recently just got a script back for Dexedrine from my psychiatrist, under the conditions I don’t drink or do drugs. I agreed to this in earnest and with honesty. Prior to getting this script, I was taking Dexedrine from a friend (which my psychiatrist knew about).
I called our crisis response team just now to get help but omitted the substance abuse for obvious reasons (records are connected). I was told the isssue was medical (because I’m having persistent menstruation and it’s cognitive decline), so they can’t help me because they deal with mental health crises.
Would the recommendation likely have been different had I not omitted the reckless substance abuse? I obviously don’t want to fess up but I am afraid.
