should i give my supervisor a handwritten thank you card?

im working at a law office as a data science intern and my internship ends this week. should i give my supervisor a handwritten card or is an email enough?

if i give a physical card, when should it be? also, would i be expected to give a gift along with the card as well? this is my first internship so im not rlly sure what the proper etiquette is
