Discussion on Buffs and Nerfs

So, hello! I will be honest, not a Black Cat main. I like to watch from the sidelines. But I’ve been thinking, and now I think I want to make a post.

So, Black Cat is, I think, pretty widely hated by the community. And as that is, and with so many people hating her, she’ll likely always have people calling for nerfs whenever she’s good. This is partly the case with every diver, but I think it’s more severe with Black Cat because of 2 parts of her kit: Her Invisibility, especially because it can be spammed, and her i-frame dash that can be done every 2 seconds. Her TTK may also be an issue, but for now, let’s focus on these 2 things. They make her the worst thing a character can be in a multiplayer competitive game. Uninteractive. It’s not fun to play against a character who can burst you from full to 0 while also jumping around invisible half the time and constantly activating i-frames.

So, I think, if these abilities were meaningfully nerfed, likely with longer cooldowns, like say 8 seconds for i-frame dash, and maybe Cat can’t use the same shop item twice in a row, or can’t use the same item again for a few seconds. But, also, I’m being clear here. I DONT WANT TO KILL THIS CHARACTER. I think Cat is super cool, and I want to learn her eventually, but I also think these abilities existing in the state they do is unhealthy for the game. So, what buffs do you want to see for Cat if these two abilities were nerfed, so she can still be strong, but not as unfun for people to play against. I’m imagining 2nd Dash back for one, but what all may come to mind as fair trades for these nerfs?
