Anyone have Pitt who will sleep in crate?

I adopted a two year old pitt terrier (mix) about 3 weeks ago. It’s been up and down and recently, a house trained dog has been having accidents inside.

During the day, she lays next to me while I work from home, and she tends to dislike it when I leave the room but she has been acclimating.

She was supposedly crate trained and was in a few fosters but the last one was in the suburbs (backyard) and allowed her to sleep in the bed. Initially I had her sleeping in the crate in the living but noticed some skin insured that might be due to her rubbing it at night so i brought her crate in my bedroom. She’s still not sleeping. She’s not whining, went in willingly, but I know she wants to sleep near me.

I know most Pitt type of dogs are Velcro dogs so I wanted to know if anyone successfully sleeps apart from their dog. Thank you for any tips - first time dog owner!
