Am I overthinking my AM or are these valid concerns?

Seeking Advice

I’m 25M looking for some honest opinions because I genuinely don’t know if I’m overthinking this or if my concerns are reasonable.

I’m in an arranged marriage. We had our engagement and exchanged rings, and everything went well. During the engagement, we didn’t really get a chance to interact because we were constantly surrounded by family and were basically the center of attention.

A few days later, I found out from my sister that she actively uses SC. I sent her a friend request, thinking it would be a respectful way to start getting to know each other. She accepted my request within about an hour, but then shortly afterward she unfriended me. I didn’t try contacting her again because I didn’t want to cross any boundaries.

Instead, I asked my sister to speak with her and simply ask if she was comfortable talking before marriage. My intention wasn’t to date or have secret conversations. I just wanted us to know each other a little before making such a huge life commitment.

Her response surprised me. She said she believes she should only get to know her husband after Nikah, that her family (especially her father) isn’t comfortable with phone conversations before marriage, and that this is how they believe things should be. She also said there wasn’t any issue with me personally.

I completely respect family values and religious boundaries. At the same time, I’m struggling because this is someone I’m going to spend my entire life with, and I know almost nothing about her personality, communication style, emotional maturity, or how we get along.

At this point, I’m leaning toward just proceeding with the marriage because I don’t want to pressure her or create unnecessary issues. But I’ll be honest I’m also scared. Not because she refused to talk, but because I have no idea what kind of person she actually is, and marriage is a lifelong commitment.
