Need Help With an Extreme Gear Build for Legends Rank

Hey everyone,
I recently reached legends rank in online multiplayer, and I’ve noticed I’m consistently finishing in last place. I think I need to improve my build.
I do have a couple of preferences, though. I really enjoy using Speed characters with Extreme Gear, since I’m a huge Sonic Riders fan. I’d like to stick with that playstyle if possible instead of switching to cars or another class.
Does anyone have any strong Extreme Gear builds or tips that work well at higher ranks? Whether it’s character recommendations, gadgets, or general strategy, I’d really appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance!
