Confused about joining B.Sc. Nursing from a private college
I m from India
I'm really confused about whether I should join a private B.Sc. Nursing college this year.
My goal is to get a stable government healthcare job in the future. However, I've been reading a lot of negative comments online saying that B.Sc. Nursing is stressful, underpaid, has poor work-life balance, and isn't worth it. At the same time, many people say it's one of the best healthcare degrees because of government job opportunities and the possibility of working abroad.
I also have the option of choosing some allied health/paramedical courses, so I'm unsure which path would be better.
I'd really appreciate honest opinions, especially from:
Male B.Sc. Nursing students or graduates
Government hospital nurses
Private hospital nurses
Anyone who switched from nursing to another healthcare field
My questions are:
Do you regret choosing B.Sc. Nursing?
Is it worth doing from a private college if the college has decent hospital exposure?
How difficult is it to get a government nursing job after graduation?
If you could choose again, would you still pick nursing or another allied health course?
Please share your real experiences—the good and the bad. I want to make an informed decision before taking admission.
Thank you!
