Can't believe I got "Did not qualify" for such a basic role in my native language!!! 35-minute interview, positive feedback throughout, then no with zero feedback. In the interview, I were in fact fixing Zara ARABIC!!. What exactly is micro1 evaluating?

I was getting too much from my friends about how this company is not good with completely bad hiring AI system!!

I just completed the interview for the Arabic Voice Actor (Egypt dialect) role, and honestly, I'm struggling to understand how this hiring process works.

Here's my background:

  • Native Egyptian Arabic speaker.
  • Over 4 years of experience in AI data annotation and model evaluation. (Fano labs AI, Abaka AI, Aligner, Appen, LXT, SpeedX and others)
  • Voice recording experience. (Voices, Shaip, Datamundi)
  • Audio editing experience.
  • Speech datasets, transcription and AI projects.

The job description literally says: "No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters."

Well... I have both.

The interview lasted around 35 minutes. The AI interviewer repeatedly responded with things like:

Very well., Well explained, Good catch., Solid response., Great approach.

Ironically, on several occasions the interviewer itself used wrong, unnatural Arabic, I was actually correcting the interviewer's Arabic!!!!!!! and I found myself explaining why certain phrases weren't idiomatic in Egyptian Arabic and suggesting more natural alternatives.

Then I finished the interview... and my dashboard simply changed to: "Did not qualify."

No explanation., No score., No feedback., No indication of what I supposedly failed.

What makes this frustrating isn't just the rejection, rejection happens.

It's spending over half an hour on a detailed assessment, answering dozens of questions, recording voice samples, providing language expertise, and receiving positive responses throughout, only to get a binary rejection with absolutely no insight into why.

After searching Reddit and LinkedIn, I found that I'm far from the only one experiencing this.

I've seen multiple people report that they've completed long interviews, were encouraged to apply, or even received emails saying they were strong candidates, only to end up with "Not Selected" or "Did Not Qualify" and no meaningful feedback.

At that point, we are left wondering:

  • Was it my pronunciation?
  • Recording quality?
  • One specific answer?
  • An automated score?
  • A quota?
  • Was any human ever involved?

Without transparency, it's impossible to improve. I'm not asking every applicant to be accepted.

I'm asking for a hiring process that respects candidates' time.

If you're going to ask people for 30+ minutes of voice recordings, language expertise, and professional knowledge, the least you can do is provide some indication of why they weren't selected.

Right now, it feels like applicants are expected to invest significant time into an opaque evaluation process while receiving nothing in return, not even actionable feedback.

Has anyone here actually gone from this interview to getting hired?

Or is everyone else seeing the same thing?

WHAT A GREAT WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
