Jealousy problems

Salam sisters and brothers
I am talking to a guy that is planning to propose soon however there are few issues that make me less confident
1- He knows me from school and I wasn’t the perfect muslim in terms of hijab and he kept bringing that up in the beginning saying how his friends used to judge me but currently he stopped
2- I am career driven and whenever I have a chance to attend an event he is less supportive and cold but he says it’s jealousy because he knows men use events to talk to women
Please guide me is this normal or problematic
