I just have to vent.

Their policies are tilted so heavily in favor of buyers, it's ridiculous.

Something I sold took an extra long time to arrive, so the buyer asked for a refund. Fair enough, it must have gotten lost. Refund issued. Two or three days later, of course, it arrives.

I message the buyer saying, Looks like your thing arrived, can you please reimburse me? "Yeah, I'm out of town, but I'll do it when I get back." Crickets since then. He ripped me off, plain and simple.

Sellers are not allowed to leave negative feedback (STUPID!!), so I go to report him, and the two options are "The buyer demanded something that wasn’t offered in the original listing" and "The buyer messaged me or retracted their bid with no intention of buying the item." Neither of which are close to what happened.

I go ahead and explain the circumstances and tell them he owes me X dollars....more crickets from eBay. And my money is still missing.

I get it, buyers are the ones who keep the cash rolling in. But they get their pound of flesh from sellers with every transaction. So why can't they give both parties the same latitude if something goes wrong?

This is probably a stale complaint, but I had to get it off my chest.
