Aggression in Büyükada

Merhabalar kardeşlerim. I am visiting Istanbul with my boyfriend these days: I know the city quite well because I lived here for an Erasmus program.

Anyway. We decided to visit Büyükada this morning, which I admit I was not really familiar with. We decided to do some trail in the northern part of the island. After the “stairs of lovers” or smth like that, we take a wrong turn and suddendly we ended up in an area lived by an hermit(?): I do not know a better term to describe him, I do not want to be offensive however. His really big and scarry dog (and most likely ill) RAN towards us and was almost ready to bite us violently. Luckily, I do not even know how, we were able to escape. The hermit shout at us, telling that the yol was not available.

A part from the episode itself, me and my boyfriend were then wondering. Do people know about this man? Because it would be maybe better to put some sort of signals. I know it can look like a naive question, the world is plenty of weird figures, but a) it was pretty near to the city centre and b) it was a characterisyic encounter in some ways. Also: we noticed that in the wooden part of the island there are a lot of abandoned buildings, so I was wondering if other similar cases happened due to the inhabitants of this kind of buildings. It had a really weird lore as a thing, so I wanted to dig in it more.
