My take on why her husbands side continues to support

Maybe will get hate for this but I’m not seeing a lot of perspectives like this out there. Also I don’t live nearby and have no connection to anyone involved, just have been following this case. And I’ve been kinda not loving what I see directed toward her husband’s family?

So her husband and her husband’s family have known her for the better part of a decade. She is now facing decades in prison. Yes, it appears from the evidence that she is guilty and she did horrible things and said horrible things and lied and sexually victimized a minor.

At the same time, there are serial killers whose families stand by them during and post conviction. Depending on who you are, even if your spouse betrays you in the worst possible way and does something truly heinous, that doesn’t necessarily take away the love you feel for them. And now that person is terrified and facing enormous consequences. And it gets complicated knowing that you’ll probably need to divorce them once they’re in prison. They’ve probably talked about it. Some people take their side of their vows REALLY seriously. Some people have fiercely loyal family values, even towards family members who don’t. I highly doubt any of them enjoy showing up to these hearings. But maybe this is their final act of love towards someone who was once apart of their family who will be going away for a long time.
