DON'T ever buy a Honeywell dehumidifier

Bought first unit in Oct 2022 - it had a 3 year warranty from Honeywell (JMATEK), thankfully I bought a 4 year third party extended warranty with it. In my region we run a dehumidifier only in late Spring to Early Fall (Jun - Oct).

Unit went bad (no water generated) in July 2024. Replacement was sent with no issue but now has only one year warranty.

Second unit lasted until June 2025 (kept icing up). JAMTEK wanted to send me a pro-rated refund for 1/3 the value I paid originally. After back and forth about my original warranty being 3 years, they sent a replacement unit in Sep 2025.

Third unit went bad in July 2026 (just over 2 months of actual run-time) with error code E3.

JMATEK 800-number is out of service, only way to contact is via email. They didn't respond for over 3 weeks, so I figured I'd try to invoke my original third party extended warranty, since it doesn't expire until Oct 2026. They refunded my original purchase price and I bought a different brand. Thank god they didn't replace it with another Honeywell.

This is my 4th dehumidifier in as many years...and as I said they only need to run 5 months a year in my region. Had an old Kenmore back in the 90's that lasted 15 years - they certainly don't make them like that any more.
