Waiting for a game on mobile?

This might be a nische thing, but the timecontrol and rating range i play at doesnt have a big pool and as a consquence it takes a long time usually to find an opponent. But if i click and search for opponent, and then go into another app while waiting the search is stopped after a few minutes, and if an opponent does match I get no notification and its often aborted. Does anyone expirence the same inconvience?
