Been deep in a custom Rockbox build for my iFlash-modded iPod Classic 7G. The whole coverflow visual style is a from-scratch custom design, fixed cover layout/spacing, dimmed inactive covers with a subtle brightness lift, custom "no art" placeholder.

Also wrote a custom pixel-precise text renderer (reads font glyphs directly, matches Rockbox's native anti-aliased text rendering since that internal function isn't plugin-accessible) with a proper looping marquee scroll for long titles - respects your actual system scroll settings.

Album art caching pulls straight from your tracks' embedded metadata - no manual downloading or tagging needed, it's all automatic. Also added an optional, careful background "cache everything" mode that only runs while idle and never touches the SD card aggressively.

Also improved the wired remote: global volume control and click-counted center button (play/next/prev).

Thinking of releasing this fairly soon if people are interested. Also been going back and forth on whether to ask for a small fee, maybe purely voluntary/donation-based, since there's genuinely been a ton of work put into this. Honestly not even sure how I'd price something like this if I did - if anyone's got thoughts on that, I'm all ears.
