Should I major in philosophy?

Before starting, please excuse some grammar errors as I am not a native speaker of the English language.

I am a student that planned to take Economics as my major. However, I found out that math is not my thing-especially higher maths. After that, I am considering Philosophy as my major to apply regarding college admissions.

While me and my tutor in an UK foundation course do believe that I am very strong in logic and critical thinking, I do believe that my lack of ability regarding memorizing things may be a obstacle for me to study.

With such information into regard, I would like to ask you some questions.

1. How do they teach philosophy? (I can't get a clue of how they teach philosophy) If you are majoring philosophy in an UK school, please tell me specifically as I am planning to attend an UK uni.

2. What abilities are needed to study philosophy in undergrad level and postgraduate level?

Thank you for your kind answers.
