Do I need to dismantle my wheel to clean/paint?
Hi all! I have an Ashford traditional (60s-70s by the speculation of you all, thank you so much for your help identifying!) and I got it used a few years ago and finally have the kit and everything to clean and refurbish it as needed. It seems in fairly good shape, so I’m not sure if it needs much, but I also want to paint it. Not the whole thing, just some folk motifs and such. Do I need to take apart my wheel to clean and paint it?
I’ve heard it’s easier to paint when it’s apart, and I can clean all of the nooks and crannies more easily. Also to take all of the pictures to reassemble it, and I’m sure it will help me get a better understanding of the wheel and its parts. But I’m also nervous to take it apart 😬
I’ve seen the video of Jillianeve refurbishing her wheel, and that’s kind of what I’m going off of. And other videos I’ve seen of people painting their wheel, they’ve taken it apart.
TIA!
