Aesthetician insists on electrolysis for my face (FtM)

Hello!

I went to my initial consultation for laser hair removal on the face, and the doc insists she cannot do laser in my case, and that electrolysis would be a much better fit.

I have pale skin with thick dark hair. I'm FtM currently on masculinizing HRT. (Wanting hair removal as FtM might sound paradoxical, but I already had too much facial hair for my liking before HRT, it's just not my thing. Shaving also makes my skin very red and irritated.)

I admit I'm quite nervous at the prospect, it sounds far more painful and involved. They offer not just numbing creams, but even numbing shots if needed. Has anyone here experienced shots in the context of electrolysis before?

The clinic doesn't seem particularly shady, and the claims that paradoxical regrowth occurs more with laser especially on the neck and face areas are seen in other sources as well. I'm just nervous to have my face burnt off without being 100% sure.
