Hey everyone!

Some of you here might already know my work. I specialize in 100% handcrafted metalwork and enamel. My process is very hands-on, heavily inspired by the champlevé technique — I engrave the metal and then manually fill the tiny recesses with enamel (often using insulin syringes just to hit those microscopic details!).

For my newest project, I wanted to push my limits and tackle something incredibly challenging: the complex, chaotic, and beautiful lines of Leonardo da Vinci. Specifically, his famous sketches of cats. Translating Renaissance ink strokes into physical metal ridges is quite a puzzle.

I spent a lot of time debating the base metal. I strongly considered bronze, but ultimately, I’m leaning towards brass. The warm, golden hue of polished brass just creates a much more striking contrast with the dark enamel, making those intricate Da Vinci lines really pop and look far more interesting.

I’m going to be launching a campaign for this "Da Vinci Cats" collection very soon. If you appreciate art history, meticulous metalcraft, or if you just really love cats, I’d be incredibly grateful if you checked out the pre-launch page and considered subscribing or supporting the project.
