Just received diagnosis

I’m 15 months into living a nightmare but hopeful that I’m close to managing my life better. My symptoms got worse this week so I went in to my local ER who knows my history but has yet to find out what’s wrong despite multiple hospital stays.

Well last night it seems my symptoms and the doctor I saw lined up well because I received an HM diagnosis.

I’m curious about what recovery from episodes look like for the average person. For me, I’ll have brief (less than 2 hours) weakness and/paralysis followed by days of a migraine. Or I’ll have lengthy (4 hours to several days) periods of recovery. These longer periods will start with a really bad full paralysis on one or both sides but always favoring my right side for severity. Then it will take me a few days to get my walking back to normal.

My doctor wants to get me into UC Irvine’s neuro department.

Before my diagnosis I was having success with nurtec when my symptoms presented classically but I’ve never used the nurtec when I get symptoms without a migraine that follows shortly after. I’m also curious if anyone has success with nurtec resolving weakness when the pain takes longer to show up.
I got approved for a 30 pill supply so I can hopefully better manage my symptoms but I’m hoping to hear some experiences as well.
