How does an electromagnet attract or repel in the direction of the magnetic force if magnetic force does no work? (I am sorry for asking this doubt like 4th time now)

Just started electromagnetism. After a bit of searching online i learnt that there are some electric effects responsible for it? Can someone explain these electric effect and give me one or two equations that would help me?
