Living alone is difficult
Hello. I recently started living alone, around the 15th of June. At first, things were fine, but I noticed lately that I've been falling into depression more regularly. I've had one episode this second week of July, which lasted for a week, and now I feel it coming again. For context, I've regularly been taking my meds and it's been last year since I had my last episode. I consider myself stable until now.
I used to live with my mom and my brother, but because of extenuating circumstances, I cannot live with them anymore. This is perfectly fine with me, until I realized being alone and having my own space is a trigger for my depression.
In terms of work, I work 6days a week but only part time, 4 hours a day. I am fine with my work, but from where I am, it's hard to find another part time job, as most job ads are full time.
I'm not necessarily socially active. After work, I stay at home and either rest, watch TV, or do my hobbies, which are crossstitching and coloring books. I also read, so most of my hobbies are for solitary individuals.
I don't know where to start being active socially so I can reduce my time being alone. I also dont know how to start. I'm a recluse, and I've never had any attempts to be social. I also have dysarthria, slurred speech, from a minor stroke last year, so I've had difficulties talking to people.
I don't know. I guess I feel pretty lonely, but I don't know how to start talking to people regularly. I believe this is what's causing my depressive episodes, but I don't know how to fix it.
I guess I am here to ask for advice and a way for me to be more social or get out of the house more, considering my circumstances. I appreciate the kind advice.
