Hot take : you don't need to finish the events

I haven't finished an event these past few weeks because life has been hectic. And it's OKAY guys. I get one or two eggs of the second dragon, and that's fine, I'll lay eggs later with decos I got in previous events when I had more time. Sometimes I don't log in for two days. It's FINE. Nothing bad will happen. You don't have to get everything completed all the time OR quit the game. Let go of that perfectionism, it's eating away all the fun. Just chill and look at the pretty dragons. Seriously. That was my two cents. Rant over.
