Playerbase is way too alergic to teamwork
By the love of god, it really isn’t that hard to understand. These characters are not new. You already know how your teammates are going to reposition, you already know what kind of strategy they are trying to execute, so why not try to follow up and build on that as a teammate?
I don’t understand why people refuse to work together. You can literally see your team moving and setting something up, but some players just completely ignore it. I’m not talking about some complicated plan where everyone has to perfectly dive the enemy backline. I’m talking about being 5 or 7 steps ahead of where you currently are, supporting the teammate who is trying to secure space, hold a corner, or create an opening, and thinking about how you can contribute to what your team is already doing.
If you notice your tank is playing dive, try to pick a DPS that can follow the opening your tank creates and help secure kills. The same goes the other way around. If you have a flanker DPS on your team, why not choose a dive tank that can create opportunities with them? If your team is playing around a certain strategy, choose a support that can actually enable it.
Why not think about how our picks can complement each other and improve the team instead of everyone just playing their own game individually?
That’s honestly what kills the fun of this game for me. People refuse to adapt their gameplay or picks around their teammates, even when the rest of the team is clearly trying to play around the same idea. You can have 5 players working toward the same goal while one person just refuses to engage with what the team is doing.
The players who probably feel this the least are those playing ranged characters, because they can stay farther away from the fight and play more independently.
And this isn’t something limited to one role either. I notice it a lot on tank, but even on DPS it’s frustrating when you’re playing a proactive character, especially melee or flankers, and you constantly have to take 2v1s or 3v1s because your team is too afraid to actually interact with the fight.
Can we please try to play like a team in a team-based game?
