how are people on normal salaries in algeria actually managing to buy a car these days?

🎓 work/school

let's say you're single, you've been working for about two years, your salary is around 70,000 da a month, with an occasional bonus. if you're disciplined and manage to save 3 mil to 4 mil every month, after two years you'll have around 80 mil . that still isn't enough to buy even a basic used maruti.

before anyone says "get a second job", i tried that too. i did online work after my regular 8-hour job, and honestly it wasn't sustainable. i had no energy left, my sleep suffered, i stopped enjoying my free time, and it started affecting my mental health. if you want to go to the gym, spend time with friends, or simply rest, something has to be sacrificed.

then there are the unexpected expenses that always come up. just as an example, i had to fix two teeth recently and ended up spending over 2,5 mil across all the visits. one unexpected expense like that can hurt ur saving and many examples like that its just one.

so i'm genuinely curious, how are people doing it? are most people getting help from family, taking loans, doing side businesses, or am i missing something? it feels like if you're relying only on a normal salary, owning a car is getting further away instead of closer.
