More info regarding the upcoming patch
Continuing with quotes from a current PTE participant—just a reminder that specific details are under NDA, hence the general phrasing.
Eighth quote: 'What I can say for sure, since it's already been announced, is the spectator mode. It's already done, and let me tell you, it's fucking awesome. Some people immediately started whining right away like "fuck, it's a fucking band-aid fix, making it without replays is bullshit." But damn, replays will come later, what else can I say. As for the spectator mode—yeah, there are still some minor bugs, but nothing critical it seems. You literally sit there, able to check the whole team, their units, incomes, etc. Basically, a solid spectator mode.'
Ninth quote: 'Overall, I like the current PTE build. Meaning, if I don't want to play vanilla—and I fucking don't, god I hate it so much—when I jump onto the PTE, I feel like yeah, this is a game I actually want to keep logging into. Even though there are still annoying elements, they've become less annoying, plus the whole group of us is trying to make them even less annoying.'
Tenth quote: 'The most important thing is the reaction to the patch. Let me just give an example off the top of my head—if someone who's been playing vanilla for a whole year with Kinder Surprise mechanics (i.e. when a vehicle carrying infantry gets destroyed, but the troops inside survive) gets that taken away, they'll have an aneurysm. Something in their brain will burst, they'll die, they literally won't be able to live with it. From my point of view, it's a problem—can it be fixed? Yeah, even radically, but there are obviously certain concerns. Then again, you could say that about a lot of things.'
Eleventh quote: 'Overall, from my perspective, what's happening on the PTE is definitely, unquestionably 100% better than vanilla. I'll emphasize again that we haven't been told yet what exactly will make it into the final patch, but if it's the current changes, that'll already be great. If some elements we're testing don't make it in because the devs said they won't have time to polish them, it's just so they don't hand you players an unfinished patch—they'd rather send it back for more work.'
Twelfth quote: 'Regarding nukes—it's no secret that there are people who are completely against them, and from my subjective point of view, only two guys are in favor of nukes (NBK and Senator), because among the people I talk to there, it feels like only those two want to keep them. Personally, I think nukes are total bullshit, but I also believe nukes sell the game. Removing them would shoot their own sales in the foot. I even feel like a lot of people will buy the new DLC solely for the MiG-31 with the nuclear missile. To repeat, nukes are one of the two hottest topics of debate on the current PTE. But nukes are being reworked; it seems like they shouldn't be left as they currently are on the PTE.'
Thirteenth quote: 'Answering your question about how all of this even came to be: At first, they heavily hyped me up in text—they came, told me, and wrote that everything's coming, we're gonna do it all right now, and I was thinking they were just full of shit. Then they take me and throw me into a chat with a bunch of other people and the devs, and the devs start preaching the exact same story to us there. And then they give us access to the PTE server on Friday (July 24th, just so you know). And it was pretty massive—during prime time there were 60+ people playing, and things really got rolling.'
I'll post more later if there's any important info, even if it's general phrasing—still way better than nothing.
