Anyone else find that people think cancer is just about chemo?

Venting

Ive just had mastectomy and reconstruction for a reoccurrence of hormone positive cancer from 7 years ago. I was told I didnt need Chemo last time so had lumpectomy and Radiotherapy. I remember then people saying things like 'ah good you don't need chemo. Must have caught it very early' etc. Didn't bother me too much, it was true.

But ive noticed this time around just how obsessed everyone is with Chemo. Maybe just because they don't know about other treatments, but all anyone seems to ask or focus on is whether chemo is needed. When will you find out if you need chemo?

I dont know yet whether im having chemo or not, but I feel this obsession with it seems to dismiss what people go through, even without having to have chemo.

Does anyone else feel this way?
