Can I upcycle an old belt to a flogger, a paddle or a choker? and if, can you recomend ressources?

my brother recently sorted out and I got a still quite good leather belt from him. I do not wear leather belts, something about its feel. But I figured it would be funy to try to make a first small leather bdsm diy.
Primarily I would be interested in the things above, if anyone would have starting ressources for a total leather newbie I would be grateful, thanks a lot !
