Defiant 4 year old
Everything is a fight these days. Everything. Mornings are the worst because it's just me trying to get him and his two year old brother ready.
I have muffins to eat in the morning. After that they can choose an apple, banana, or orange. Eats his muffins and says, i want a banana. Okay. Give it to him. "I want it cut up". "No you can eat it like a big boy" fight.
Takes the tonie box out of the bag. "Hey buddy we need to leave that in the bag so we don't lose any. If you put it in the bag we can keep listening." "I don't want it in the bag" fight.
And then this repeats for the entire hour and a half until it is time to go. I am so sick of fighting to just do the most simple things. We seem to have periods like this and then it will get better for a month where he just decides to magically listen and then we revert back.
I feel like we are pretty consistent with consequences. Having to go to his room when he talks mean to his brother or is hitting. This morning, the tonie was taken away because he wouldn't listen...
Idk what I am even looking for. Advice? Solidarity? Morning tips? Just trying not to lose my mind over here
