Update on Perfect Apex: 3D Track Maps, Lap Stacking, and a smarter AI Race Engineer

Hi all,

A while back I shared Perfect Apex here, a web app I've been building to analyze and compare track day telemetry from loggers like TrackAddict, RaceChrono, and RaceBox.

I've been working hard to make this the best telemetry analysis tool out there. This update is focused on two things: advanced visualizations for power users, and AI features that make lap analysis simple and accessible even if you've never dug into telemetry data before. If you are interested in getting faster, perhaps give it a go and see if it helps.

The new features in action!

What's new:

  • Smarter AI Chat: The AI Race Engineer now embeds inline segment maps and mini telemetry snippets directly inside its responses. Ask it about a segment and it'll show you exactly what happened.
  • Web Push Notifications: Get alerted on desktop or mobile when your AI lap analysis completes.
  • 3D Track Map: Spin, tilt, and view your track map from any angle with 360° rotation and camera tilt controls.
  • 3D Lap Stacking: When comparing multiple laps, click "Stack Laps" to separate each lap onto its own elevated 3D layer so you can cleanly inspect line differences without overlap.
  • Specialized Workspace Tabs: The workspace is now split into focused tabs (Braking, Cornering, Deltas, and more), each with a tailored layout and relevant map markers like brake points and apex indicators.
  • Optimized Chart Rendering: Better performance when scrubbing across speed and G-force traces.
  • Multi-Session Upload: Select multiple session files at once to upload a full track weekend in one go.

As always, Perfect Apex is a solo passion project. I'd love for you to upload a session from your last track day, try out the 3D map controls, and let me know how it performs!

Give it a go here: https://www.perfect-apex.com/

If you run into any bugs, have feedback on the 3D map controls, or have ideas for what to build next, drop a comment below or send me a DM.

Thanks as always for the support!
Ryan
