The Voicenotes MCP finally makes my notes feel like a real second brain
Since switching to OpenAI because of ChatGPT Work, I’ve been really enjoying the MCP integration with Voicenotes.
I added an instruction to ChatGPT telling it to consult my Voicenotes whenever my previous thoughts, decisions, values, preferences or personal context could be relevant. That small change has made a huge difference.
My notes no longer feel like information I have to remember to search for. They now actively influence how AI helps me. Things I recorded months ago—ideas, reflections, decisions and personal values—can provide context when ChatGPT answers a question, helps me make a decision or works on something for me.
It isn’t a replacement for Ask AI inside Voicenotes. I see it as something complementary, and in some ways even more powerful: Voicenotes has become a genuine second brain that is simply there in the background. I don’t always have to remember what I wrote, ask a specific question about it or point the AI towards the right note.
This is the first time my collection of notes genuinely feels alive—and it makes everything I’ve captured over time much more valuable.
