Feeling very lost

I am planning to buy a laptop for starting my college degree(doing a BS in astronomy and astrophysics) but tbh I am very confused about proceeding with this, first of all I know modern day astronomy is not only looking at stars with a telescope but heavily maths and coding based and I don't know C of coding, not even well versed with laptops and computers(only used smartphones and tabs till now).Is it possible for a neanderthal like me to become fluent in coding and computers ?
