Simple bolt-on carb upgrade for an older V8, worth doing?

I am looking at a simple bolt-on 4-barrel carb upgrade for an older V8 project and want to keep the setup easy to service, using an Evil Energy fuel line kit to keep the install clean. The carb I found is aimed at street performance and seems like a straightforward replacement, but I want feedback from people who have lived with one.
