Sometimes I feel that I am almost TOO empathetic and sympathetic, can anybody else relate?

Question

It seems quite oxymoronic, since I struggle often with empathising with other people - NEVER sympathy, I feel so much, but I both empathise and sympathise with fictional characters, animals, objects, etc.

I feel awful for killing flies - I have to guide them outside, I will never kill a spider, in particular there is a scene from Monsters vs Aliens where a character, Bob, has a flashback where he’s fed carrot purée against his will (which is now a meme,) and I almost BAWL because I feel so bad for him, like no! He doesn’t like it! Feed him nice things!

can anyone else relate - or maybe not relate at all? I’d love to hear everyone’s experiences with empathy and sympathy, I understand hyper-empathy subverts expectations often planted on autistic people, but id love to hear everyone’s perspective!
