Women, do you ever unintentionally look at someone's lips while talking? My girlfriend does this and I'm trying to understand.

Dating & Relationships [Wed/Fri]

I've noticed something my girlfriend does that has been bothering me, and I genuinely want to understand it from a woman's perspective rather than jump to conclusions.

Every now and then, while she's talking to another guy, she'll look at his lips. It's sometimes constant or prolonged, sometimes just for a moment here and there during the conversation. The reason I'm hesitant to assume the worst is that she's done this even when I'm standing right there, which makes me think she probably isn't doing it consciously. If it were intentional or flirtatious, I don't know why she'd do it so openly in front of me.

At the same time, she's naturally very friendly with guys in general, so noticing this makes me uncomfortable. My brain automatically associates looking at someone's lips with attraction because, as a guy, if I caught myself repeatedly looking at a woman's lips while talking, it would usually mean I'm attracted to her or thinking about kissing her.

So I'm wondering if this is different for women.

Do some women naturally glance at people's lips while listening or talking without any romantic or sexual meaning?

Could it just be a communication habit (like focusing on speech or facial expressions)?

Is this something you've caught yourself doing without realizing it?

Or, in your experience, does looking at someone's lips usually indicate attraction?

I'm not looking for reassurance or validation either way. I just want honest perspectives from women because I know men and women don't always interpret body language the same way, and I don't want to misread something that's completely innocent.
