I want to pursue a creative career, but how can I when AI feels like too much of a threat?

How to get started

It's hard enough to build a business and get an audience, but with AI taking over so many creative spaces... it feels super disheartening.

I don't want to learn AI, I don't want anything to do with it outside of genuine *practical* applications.

Unfortunately, a lot of businesses don't think that way. It's cheaper to tell an algorithm to crap out something resembling what the company wants than to get a real artist.

Is it still worth it to go and pursue a creative career?

What fields are the safest?

List of current skills and experience:

Sewing >5 years \[plush toys >5 years, apparel <2 years\]

Drawing >10 years \[traditional and digital, includes sketching, linework, and painting for both forms of media)

3D modeling <1 year

I also know how to handle and maintain slightly more advanced equipment and their respective softwares, such as sewing machines, embroidery machines, resin printers, sublimation printers, heat presses, and the Cricut.
