You can instantly gain world-class mastery in any skill, but you must permanently erase a random 2-year block of your past memories.
You basically get to skip the 10,000 hours of grind. Pick literally anything: playing an instrument at a virtuoso level, speaking multiple languages fluently, elite athletic mastery, high-level programming, whatever. You get instant, top 0.1% skill.
The catch: To make space for it, a random, continuous 2-year period of your life memories gets completely deleted.
You won't remember events, trips, conversations, or major milestones from those 2 years. People can tell you what happened, but you’ll have zero actual memory of it. You won't know which 2 years get wiped until after you press the button, it could be ages 7–9, ages 13–15, or even the last 2 years.
Are you taking the deal? What skill is worth rolling the dice on, and what 2-year stretch would you be most terrified of losing?
