Platinum cross-save query

So I used to have my pc warframe account and my switch warframe account, my pc was far further so I decided to do cross play yesterday and got my pc account to override my switch account.

Naturally when I went onto switch I lost all my platinum currency (as intended) and panicked, and looked into it to discover that Nintendo platinum is separate from PC/Xbox/PS platinum…

Anyone know why? Making themselves the odd ones out is surely a little alarming no?

I can’t be the only one who dropped a brick when he spotted 0 platinum 😂 I’m sure it was said in fine print somewhere but it’s not exactly something you’d ever expect to happen so I linked without any thought of it I can’t lie! But it has made me wonder why Nintendo would choose to be the only ones? Seems odd to me why their competitors are fine with it but not them?
