The amount of homophobia and stereotyping in this sub is astounding sometimes. We need to do better as a community

Everyday I see posts and comments on this sub that make extremely declarative statements about entire groups of people.

- "Most gymbros are gay"

- "If he's bi, he's a chaser and is attracted to the male parts of you"

- "All men think we are easy"

- "If he cares about his appearance that much, he's gay/bi/an egg"

- "cis women are fake, they don't see us women"

- "all [insert race] men are [some stereotype/treat trans women a specific way/only want...]

This isnt doing us any favors. I transitioned years ago now and I'm pre op and I went through a phase where I really resented men because I wasnt passing well for a brief period of time and was also new to all the feelings and struggles associated with transitioning.

But we don't like it when people stereotype us or make assumptions about us or lump us together like we're a hivemind and tell us who we are attracted to and who we shouldn't be attracted to. So why is it okay to do this to other people?

I know men statistically speaking are responsible for majority of violent crime and other forms of discrimination. But a lot of us need to understand that there are over a billion people on this planet. Your observations arent always universal even though they might be shared by a few others online.

None of these kinds of statements help anything. It just forces your own alienation from other groups of people. You train yourself to see things that are not there because if he's fit, he must be gay or bi, and if he's bi, then I don't want him because if he's attracted to men that gives me dysphoria or that he's going to want me to top. Straight men enjoy being pegged by women. Some straight men are just bottoms for women.

Singling out bi men or using someone's traits to make assumptions and flat out generalized statements about their sexuality is NOT a good look.

Dooming other women on posts saying "girl he's gay" when there's nothing that actually suggests this is toxic. We already struggle, but this subreddit is becoming this cesspool of misery and negativity and sometimes even paranoia.

Even cis women need to sift through many men to find good ones because men are predominantly the ones that approach. So obviously the likelihood of getting more duds approaching you is higher. Yes we struggle with our own issues too that cis women do not face but it doesn't change the fact that dating requires patience, knowing/respecting yourself, and understanding it's all about numbers. The first couple men you meet are not going to be among the right type of man for you. And whats right for one of us may not be right for another.
