Advise are a trip with one twin

Hi! So I have a friend I'd love to visit, maybe for 2-3 days. Plane tix aren't that inexpensive right now so all 4 of us going doesn't feel feasible. Unfortunately my girls will have JUST turned 2 (on Saturday! 🥹) I had a thought that I could take one kid and leave one with my husband. My friend has 3 kids so I don't really feel like going to see her without no kids. I'm just wondering if this will freak our kids out. So far they have only been separated for an hour or two at a time if I take one to do errands. And the last time we did that my husband said the one who stayed home started crying and saying her sister's name.

What does everyone think? Is a 2 day trip and separation a good experience for them or it'll just be upsetting and we need to do more shorter outings first? I'd actually love to get some solo time with each kid ...
