common sense about a garden?

So, my vet clinic recently planted a small flower garden in front of the building. The flowers are beautiful and smell amazing! We haven't had a chance to put a little fence around it yet because the prices of the ones we want are just a little too pricey at the moment.

This morning, I was out watering the flowers. As soon as I finished, a client walked up and let her dog pee on the flowers... then the dog started kicking dirt all over them.

You'd think that would just be common sense, right? I guess not. 😭

What would you do? Should we put up a sign that says, "Please don't let your dog walk or relieve itself in our garden"?

I'm really trying to be nice, but the rage I felt in that moment... 😅
