Is it a hot take to say Dan da Dan so far has been overrated?

A friend and I made a video reviewing Dan da Dan’s first season (will link below but as per subreddit rules, don’t feel like you have to watch) and my biggest takeaway was:

1. yes, it’s fun to watch but
2. it feels like there’s no world building.
When you stack it next to other shows in that genre like jjk and demon slayer, I realized that I know nothing about the main characters by episode 12. I mean, the only character we actually got a backstory on was the Acrobatic Silky, which funny enough, was my favorite part of the season.
Have I just become an old man who wants story over action, or is this opinion justified?
   Thanks, yall!
