Am I allowed to join ALP if previously I was in Liberal party?

Title - I never actually did anything in the Libs just paid my dues online. After a bit of political soul searching and looking closely at policies and my moral values, I want to join the ALP and get more involved in my local area. VIC elections are also coming up and I’d like to get involved.

I’m worried if this past membership would complicate things? Do I need to provide extra context?
