Green, lake within 15min, mountains/hill, not freezing. Does it exist?

ChatGPT keeps suggesting places where the closest swimming lake is still at least a 30+min drive away. What I'm looking for:

- Greenery and forest

- Not freezing long winters (so the Northeast is probably out). Rain is ok

- Mountains or hills (so the Midwest is out too)

- At least one swimming lake or river within a 15min drive

- Either parks or hikes within a 15min drive

That's it. I prefer small-ish places (10-150k population) but open to bigger places too. I also prefer the East Coast, but not an absolute must. I used to live in Asheville and it ticks a lot of boxes, but the closest swimming lake is an hour drive away. I love swimming and hanging out at lakes and I'm also into kayaking and stand up paddling, so the closer the better. I recently visited Montpelier, Vermont, and it also checked a lot of boxes, and it has multiple swimming lakes around, but the winters are just too long for me. Thanks!
