Need advice: Creta EV vs Harrier EV (or any better EV?)
Hi everyone,
We’re planning to buy an EV and I’d love to get some advice from people who have experience with EVs.
Our current garage:
* 2013 Maruti Swift VDi – It’s done almost 3 lakh km and is still running surprisingly well. However, because it’s a diesel, we can’t drive it into many NCR areas due to the age restrictions. Reliability is also becoming a concern given the mileage.
* Mahindra Scorpio N Z8L – We bought it around 1.5 years ago. It’s a fantastic car, but my father barely drives it because he finds it too big. He usually drives alone to work and has probably driven the Scorpio only 3-4 times since we bought it.
So we’re planning to replace the Swift with an EV.
Our priorities are:
* Low running costs (we currently spend around ₹30,000/month on diesel)
* Comfortable and easy to drive, since my father will be the primary driver
* Reliable for long-term ownership
* We’ll most likely buy the top variant of whichever model we choose.
Right now, we’re considering:
* Hyundai Creta EV
* Tata Harrier EV
The Harrier EV looks amazing, but I’m wondering if it might again be too large for my father, similar to the Scorpio. On the other hand, the Creta EV seems more manageable for daily city use.
What would you recommend between these two? If you’ve owned or driven either, I’d love to hear your experience.
Also, are there any other EVs in a similar budget that we should seriously consider? We’re open to other suggestions if they offer better value, reliability, or ownership experience.
Thanks in advance!
