How to top submissively

So I’ve been seeing this femme domme and we have a great dynamic. However, she said she didn’t like that I had a tendency to become more dominant/rebellious when I top so I was wondering how to top more submissively.

For femme dommes: what do you like your sub to say/do whilst topping so they remain submissive?

And for subs: how do you navigate topping whilst staying submissive?
