J1 NOS waiver denied.

Hi all! Seeking some advice from someone who has been in the same situation as me. Applied for my J1 waiver in July 2025, my country gave the approval for the waiver but DOS denied my waiver last week & issued me an unfavorable recommendation.

DOS did ask for more evidence. I sent them my marriage certificate and explained to them that I plan to adjust my status (I explained in details) through my US citizen spouse, but I guess that wasn’t enough.

Anyone been in the same situation?

I’m aware of the other waiver categories but I’ve heard they’re scrutinized even more than the NOS.
